Govt committed to preserving religious freedom in Sabah, says state minister

TENOM, April 9 — Sabah Rural Development Minister Datuk Seri Radin Malleh said the government was committed to ensuring that religious freedom in the state was preserved.

He said the concept of religious freedom was enshrined in the nation’s constitution, in line with the parliamentary democracy and the Rukun Negara principles.

“The government provides financial allocation and supports the organisation of various social and religious, community and cultural programmes,” he said in his speech at the launching of the Pentarama in conjunction with the Sabah-level Pesta Kalimaran, an annual cultural celebration of the Muruts, here today.
